THE POSITION

The Crew Lead will be expected to demonstrate excellent customer service skills, uphold all company standards, train new employees, and be an engaged and supportive member of the VITAL community. In addition to training, administrative, and support duties. The Crew Lead will also work shifts at the front desk. While on shift, a Crew Lead will provide ongoing support and feedback to the rest of the Crew. The Crew Lead is the most highly trained person on shift, able to help resolve unique issues. Administrative work will include managing the Crew schedule, tracking Crew hours within the payroll system, and updating Crew documents.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delegate duties and tasks to Crew members while on shift 

  • Observe and provide constructive feedback to Crew as needed

  • Provide thorough training and continued support to Crew

  • Hire a qualified team of Crew who represents VITAL’s values

  • Operate Mindbody Online (POS System) for membership sales, class bookings, reporting, etc

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with members

  • Keep the crew informed on any operational changes or events happening around the gym

  • Provide a weekly schedule for all Crew and ensure that all shifts are covered

  • Participate in Crew meetings

  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the gym while on shift, e.g., office area, the front desk, etc

  • Work with Assistant Manager and General Manager on performance reviews for all Crew

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • 1 year minimum experience in a management position  

  • Able to work independently and be self-motivated

  • Experience in training a staff

  • Experience in maintaining a staff schedule 

  • Computer skills with experience using email and Google Drive 

  • The ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with management and staff both in person and in writing

  • Positive and energetic attitude with excellent customer service skills 

  • Experience with Mindbody Online preferred

  • Knowledge of climbing is an added bonus!
