Featured Artist Application
We want to showcase your art! Please read through our art program policies, then submit your work to be considered by filling out the form below. VITAL Members will be given priority.
Size
Our goal is to fill out the blank space leading above the stairwell to the mezzanine at our West Harlem location.
The space is approximately 5 x 19 feet along the stairwell, with around 96 square feet of space.
If you have additional work, there is an additional 28 square feet of space in the basement next to the lockers.
We prefer a handful of larger pieces that stand out, or an assortment of medium size pieces that will still make a statement, or combination of both.
Due to the nature of the gallery space, 3D work cannot always be accommodated.
If you have any questions about the size or quantity of pieces, please get in touch. If you need more time to produce enough work for your display, please let us know and we can book you with enough time for you to finish your set.
Quality
All art pieces must be completed by the time they reach our walls.
If printed, they are printed in high resolution.
Have a finished display, whether that be wrapped canvases, frames, or another kind of finished mounting. Imagine how you would want your work displayed in someone else’s home, and do that!
Display
Must all be family-friendly in terms of content and language.
Includes an artist statement that has contact info and/or instructions for purchasing work.
Be displayed promptly on the first of the month, remain throughout the month (even if sold), and be taken down promptly on the 29th of the month.
Sales
You can include price tags for the art work if you wish to sell.
In your artist bio, please give clear instructions for how members can purchase your art.
All sales will be handled between the artist and the buyer. VITAL will not be responsible for sales.
Buyer may retrieve their purchased art at the end of the month after the display, OR upon purchasing if the artist is able to replace the art so that the gallery wall remains full.
