ABOUT VITAL

Our mission at VITAL is to create places that people love. While our gyms focus on bouldering, we also offer programs such as yoga, aerial, cycle, and fitness. VITAL gyms are open to members 24/7. We’re open to the public during the day, but only members can unlock the door at night. The sense of trust and ownership this inspires is part of what makes the VITAL community special.

THE POSITION

The Youth Instructor is responsible for facilitating a fun and well-monitored experience for youth climbing programs, including but not limited to after school programs, school break camps, and birthday parties. As a youth instructor, you may be hired for one or more of these specific roles.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Teach students ages 5 and up basic bouldering techniques, climbing etiquette, and risk mitigation 

  • Facilitate games and other guided activities 

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment for all participants

  • Operate Mindbody Online (POS System) for all sales and class check-ins

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of all VITAL rules and operations

  • Be able to explain the basics of bouldering to any gym newcomers

  • Provide thorough and engaging tours of the gym’s programs and features

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with parents and students

  • Foster a fun and uplifting community

  • Maintain a clean and welcoming gym

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with children preferred

  • Experience bouldering

  • Mindbody Online experience preferred 

  • The ability to communicate clearly and efficiently with management and staff

  • Experience in a similar position preferred

  • Safesport Certification 

  • CPR Certification
